Vegetation Management
Trees and other vegetation are an important part of a clean, safe and healthy community. Trees remove carbon dioxide from the air, provide habitat for birds and other wildlife and add beauty to our environment. That's why TEP has worked with Tucson Clean and Beautiful to subsidize the planting of more than 50,000 trees in our community through the Trees for Tucson program.
When trees and other vegetation grow too close to power lines and other electrical equipment, though, they can cause power outages and other safety hazards for our customers. To prevent these problems, TEP works year-round to keep its power line corridors free from encroaching branches or other vegetation.
You can help us maintain reliable service by making sure to plant the Right Tree in the Right Place outside your home or business. The following pages offer more details about our vegetation management program as well as tips about the best trees to plant and how to get low-cost trees from Trees for Tucson.
