Billing Guidelines

In order to establish credit with TEP, nonresidential customers are required to place a cash deposit to secure payment of bills for service, or provide a security acceptable to the company for payment to the company in an amount equal to the required deposit. A nonresidential customer deposit shall not exceed two and one-half times the customer's estimated maximum monthly bill. Upon discontinuance of service, the company will refund any balance of the deposit, plus applicable interest, in excess of unpaid bills. The company will return any credit balance by check to the last known customer address.

Your monthly bill statement reflects the amount of electricity your business consumed during the billing cycle. It also shows the number of days of service in the billing period and the date that the meter was read. If we are unable to read your meter on the scheduled date, we will bill you an estimated amount that is computed from your account's historical data. If we estimate your bill, we will print the numeral "2" in the code column on the front right-hand side of the bill.

Unlike most other things you buy, you pay for electricity after you've used it. That's why we ask you to pay your bill within 10 working days of the date we mail it.

The Arizona Corporation Commission regulates TEP's electricity rates, which vary based on customer criteria. Most of our residential customers are under Residential Rate No. 1. TEP's commercial rates are are listed under Pricing Plans.
